We're raising £600 to help us take Alistair McDowall's incredible play Pomona to the Edinburgh Fringe 2018!
Who are you?
We are the cast and creative team for The University of Manchester Drama Society's 2017 award-winning Autumn Season Production of Pomona by Alistair McDowall (a Manchester Drama alumnus). We are all 1st year students at The University of Manchester and we're working hard to bring this incredible play to life for a week-long run at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe! Working on the play through the autumn was an unforgettable experience and we're really excited to get back into the rehearsal room.
Pomona is a brilliantly complex and compelling play which explores the nature of truth and reality alongside seven interconnected lives. It explores a wide range of subjects such as the business of prostitution, Dungeons & Dragons, retribution, and chicken nuggets... (to name a few!)
We are really fortunate to now have the opportunity to bring this exciting play to a wider audience but need you help with all the costs that a week-long run at the Festival creates.
Taking Pomona to the fringe will be an incredible experience for us. This will be the first production that any of our cast and crew have ever taken to Edinburgh fringe (or indeed, on tour at all!) and so the opportunity to bring a theatrical project fully to fruition will undoubtedly be an invaluable learning experience - pushing both our passion for creating exciting theatre, and skill-set for post-graduation work in the theatre industry.
Where will the money go?
We're raising £600 to pay for the performance rights for Alistair McDowall's play-script, and also to hopefully subsidise some of the accommodation and travel costs that our cast have to pay.
We have a range of fantastic rewards for your generosity, whatever the amount you give!
